Hello East Dulwich Forum,

This is Raju from King's Road Cricket & Social Club - we played you guys earlier this season. Well we've got a game this Saturday in Wandsworth Common but are struggling to find one player to complete our lineup. We don't claim to be talented and this is a friendly in all senses of the word. Banter is not only welcomed, it is very much encouraged.

If you are interested, email me at [email protected]

This was posted in the what's on section if anyone is interested. This team is the team that Dave (our fast bowling captain from the game earlier in the year) has always played for until now.

I play friendly cricket for small club called Belair Corinthians in Belair Park, about a 5 minute walk from the Crown & Greyhound. We?ve seen the Stanford millions coming into the game and, well frankly we want a piece of the action. However, despite a fine record against some pretty tough friendly local oppo last season, apparently we?d have to win a national domestic competition to qualify.

Undaunted, we?ve identified a local league as our first step on the ladder to cricketing fame and fortune. However we realise that if we?re to make it big, we may need help.

We?re looking for players. Appreciate it?s a funny time of year to be recruiting, but if we?re to go ahead and join a league we need to be confident of having a decent squad of players. If you?ve played cricket to pretty much any standard, and fancy a bit of regular cricket next summer, then please give me a shout.

Thanks - Jim

    • As I said, it was my understanding. I worded it very carefully. I didn't/don't know for sure, so clearly not a fact. And hardly an "opinion", which is something completely different. You have no idea what reason anybody might have had for not voting for him (unless you can point to some opinion poll results which actually asked people?)
    • Also, just to add, the threat to kill someone's dog and try to kick it, is an additional extremely unpleasant layer. I have noticed a lot of the burst water balloons lying around in the park too- that is not great for the environment either.
    • I’m basing it on the fact that Jeremy Corbyn had repeatedly and on record said he is against mandatory vaccinations in any situation, and he wouldn’t disclose wether he had the Covid vaccine himself    as I said. Not as bad as his brother but very definitely a bit weird about the whole thing. Just say you had the vaccination Jeremy, say that everyone should and stop being weird in the middle of a global pandemic    it’s the same slippery evasive nonsense about Brexit and him. About Putin poisonings and him.     if you are happy with his evasiveness then you do you.  But there is a reason the country wouldn’t get behind him
