Hi all,

Can anyone help with this? We're going to watch the Peppa Pig show at the theatre in Piccadilly Circus and I'm racking my rains for somewhere to eat afterwards, obvious choice is Rainforest Cafe but they're fully booked. Something like a Giraffe would be good but seems like there's none around there, ideally we'd like walking distance.

Also any recommendations for ice cream parlours etc would be great!

Thanks in advance

There's a cafe on Charing Cross Road between Leicester Square and the NPG that does astonishing looking ice cream creations - food shaped for example. No idea how good a place to eat it is - standard sort of old-style Italian cafe from memory - but it would probably be a laugh. NPG cafe is Peyton and Byrne so decent food for kids. There are chain places on Haymarket.
How about: Wagamamas (good kids menu & plenty of bustle & lots to watch; in Leicester Sq or Covent Garden) or Byron Burger (Haymarket or Soho - have eaten at the Cov Garden & Soho ones with baby & toddler, macaroni cheese a hit & the staff were great) or Nandos (Cov Garden or Soho - quick & easy and popular ice lollies for pudding.

    • I’d like to recommend local plumber - James at Trelco Plumbing. I’ve used them twice now, for a kitchen tap replacement and a boiler repair. Both times they were able to attend at short notice, arrived on time and we are very happy with the work they have done. James is polite, responsive and easy to deal with. • Deptford Green and Elm Green anecdotally have a more realistic and compassionate to kids differing needs. Whether that is still the case i'm not sure. Having 3 boys at Charter i would seriously consider a boys school if you have them, Charter East really aren't geared up for the different educational needs of some boys and the challenging behaviour this frustration leads to. I have heard amazing things about St Thomas the Apostle boys school.
    • Thanks everyone for the great recommendations! I wouldn't normally go for vegan restaurants, but I've been to En Root and really liked it. Fresh and tasty.  The Ritzy Cinema in Brixton also sell their food, to eat in their cafe before or after a film (I don't think they sell the whole menu that you'd find in Peckham, but there is a good choice)
