Hello,

I would like to know if there are any Finnish speakers out there with babies who would like to meet up occasionally? I want my 10 week old to grow up speaking Finnish but find myself switching to speaking English a lot so some friends who also speak Finnish may be helpful for her in the long run!

And Marina,

We got few finnish aupairs/nannies around east dulwich or nearby areas.

Myself am in half finnish-half canadian family looking for 21mths old girl. Her talking aint that improved so maybe a playdate or just a walk in the park or something?

And then check facebook if you are in there. There is a group finnish people living in london or finnish aupairs in london. Am quite sure theres a group for south east london finnish aupairs/nannies/students etc as well.

But feel free to contact.

Hello!

Just found this old thread :) I'm a Finnish mum with a 8 month old baby girl living in Gipsy Hill. We're aiming to bring her up bilingual and I'd love to get to know other Finnish speaking mums and kids in SE London. Let me know if you'd like to meet up for a coffee!

    • confused by the question?
    • My point was in response to this:  "The idea that serving as a local councillor (including dealing with the public, internal party politics - which is always the most vicious where the stakes are lowest, and plenty of unpaid prep work) is a great pathway for careerists and moneygrabbers is utter shite. On a per hour basis you'd be far better off working at Sainsbos."   You could give up your job at sainsbury's and do a councillor's work and be very much better off. Most of these councillors earn this sort of money and still have full time jobs on the side.
    • No. The pool changing rooms are unaffected.   The gym changing rooms (aka dry side) are being refurbished.
    • Thanks for the link Dave. For clarity, the document shows that he receives the standard basic allowance all councillors get and a Senior Responsibility Allowance commensurate with the post he held. He claims no other allowance or any expenses as far as I can see... which makes me wonder what your point might be?
