For the first time since privatisation a train stopped at Nunhead that was not scheduled to do so as other services were cancelled. This was the 8.33 to Bedford! I suppose it might have been a mistake!

I believe its because the dumb civil servant who set up the performance targets said that trains had to arrive on time at all cost, no mention was made of stranded travellers!

The purpose of a train is to get to its destination on time, not necessarily to bring anyone there.
