Hi All,

Can anyone please advise me on what I can do with regards to my Neighbour above me, having wooden (bare) flooring.

I live in a conversion on the ground floor of a house, with just the flat above me.

My neighbour above has sanded her floorboards, without permission from the council (southwark), and there is no sound proofing.

It is a living nightmare, and it is affecting my life, as I cannot sleep properly (I can hear snoring)above my bedroom, as the bare flooring is throughout the whole flat.

Any advice please on what I can do?

moe.

Proper sondproofing aint cheap, but is certainly demanded in new conversions - I know cos did it recently. In older conversions I have no idea sorry about regs.

Start with contacting council, or discuss with neighbours directly. Dont do what some friends did and still do: grin thru far too polite gritted teeth and bear it. Good luck.

I am all for supporting local business and personally very glad after appalling service earlier this year Gail’s has closed.. Change of staff and chefs were unreal.. In one month alone must have had at least 4 new chefs plus god knows how many waiters/ waitresses.. when Ai saw that happening, new it was gonna be down hill all the way.

    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
