Hi

I play piano and really want to get into playing with other musicians. Are there any other instrumentalists out there who would like to give some duets a go?

I've got a couple of kids so would generally need to get together in the evening when they're in bed. Or alternatively is there anyone out there who would like to try a musical play date? :) My eldest is at nursery a couple days a week which just leaves me with the 17th month old and he's always partial to listening to me play piano while he potters about. So if anyone had a child of similar age and wants to come round with their instrument and see how much they'll let us play then we could always try that...sounds like fun to me!

PM me if interested.

Cheers.

Hello,

I just went on the forum looking for musicians to play with, and saw your message ... I know you posted it a while back but are you still looking for people? I'm a pianist and flautist and would love to try out playing some duets, also it you're up for it maybe doing some flute with piano accompaniment?

I have a child too, he's school age so I don't think the musical playdate idea would work regrettably, but evenings are good for me.

What level are you? I reached grade 6/7 level on piano (though I stopped doing exams after 5) but that was 25 years ago and I don't have a piano currently: however I sometimes play on my sister's grand and I'm still vaguely competent! I could practice on a friend's piano if you're interested in doing something together.

Let me know if you're still interested ...

    • I have just read on open council network that Tesco had applied for an alcohol licence, and an ATM license, according to the article. Not sure if permission was granted, due to local opposition, citing another supermarket might encourage shoplifting and anti-social behaviour.
    • In an ideal world, yes, more tax would be directed to the justice system. Because a lot of suspects don't get a fair trial and wrongly convicted. Often they'll have a long list of previous, so police are picking the low hanging fruit. And because legal aid solicitors and barristers' pay is now so anaemic, they simply don't have the time to work a case and defend it properly. So you probably see more people behind bars than there should be.  It started with Brown and then got way worse with Cameron, when he essentially tried to turn legal aid firms into giant call centres and put the contracts out to tender. Even since then, the system gets squeezed more every year.
