  1. There's a shoe recycling box on Barry Road just by the entrance to the Plough Pub car park.
  2. Can anyone recommend anywhere that would be interested in a donation of children's books for ages 0-5?
  3. The River Cottage family cookbook is great - aimed at getting the kids to pick their meals and help cook: https://www.amazon.co.uk/River-Cottage-Family-Cookbook/dp/0340826363
  4. I'm sure everyone knows but make sure you fill in all choices, don't leave any blanks!
  5. We got ours from In-Toto (I think that's the name) and they have a showroom in West Dulwich. Very professional - our neighbour recommended them. http://www.intoto.co.uk/showrooms/view/dulwich-london
  6. Peter at Balayage salon opposite the Plough pub on Lordship Lane is excellent. Go on Wednesdays and colour is half price.
  7. It's free. It's a morning or afternoon session of 2 hours. Nursery Morning session 08.45 - 11.45 Afternoon session 12.30 - 15.30 Information is here: http://www.stanthonysprimary.co.uk/images/Prospectus_2015.pdf
  8. When I was looking into this, I seem to recall you need 2.3m height clearance for a conversion to be possible which we didn't have in our flat.
  9. They buy all their fruit and veg from the local Rye Lane traders hence the veg and fruit not being organic (as far as I know). Certainly nothing is labelled organic. The cost is relatively high when you consider the quality of the ingredients.
  10. I'd be interested in group tuition for a Year 2 child.
  11. I have seen an Explore centre and the kids are based at computers which isn't really what I'm after. The Rotherhithe sessions look good, thanks for the link. I'll see if there are any local tutors that may consider a group of 2 or 3 children to split the cost.
  12. Sol - did you find any maths groups/clubs? I am need of non-Kumon maths workshops for my daughter but can't afford one-on-one tutoring.
  13. We registered the birth in Peckham - I believe you can use either Lambeth or Southwark Reg Office if you give birth at Kings. Certainly there was no issue when I called to get an appointment.
  14. On the up side, it'll probably be child-free!
  15. We pay ?5 an hour to our neighbour's 16 year old daughter to babysit.
  16. There are lots of activities listed on this Facebook page. Hope that helps: https://www.facebook.com/groups/se22families/
  17. The se22 family activities Facebook page is a great idea - looking forward to seeing the christmas listings! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1524583351115491?notif_t=group_activity&ref=m_notif
  18. We did a T-Shirt design and print party at Captured on the Rye for 10 six year olds recently and it was lots of fun. We ordered in pizza and brought the cake with us. Details are here: http://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/forum/read.php?29,1294471,1295909
  19. My daughter asked for 5p for her first tooth that fell out as she is 5 years old. She then demanded 6p for the 2nd to fall out, even though she is still 5. No more have fallen out since but I presume 7p is next! I'm not keen to give her any coins. She just loses them or is she doesn't lose them, then she's too much of a tightwad to part with any of her own pennies for low value treats (penny sweets etc)
  20. thanks for the heads up - i'll come back via peckham tonight
  21. The Patch have a Mother's Day menu which looked nice with a free chocolate pudding for mum.
  22. School days are much shorter so presumably parents have lots of creative solutions for managing the pick-ups and drop-offs? Having worked at a holiday club before, it's a long way when you do 8.30 - 5pm as there's always an hour either side for setting up and tidying up. It's a full-on day and not particularly well-paid in my experience.
