Can anyone recommend a good mechanic?

Hi,

There are 2 very good mechanics in the Tyrrell Trading Estate on Tyrrell Road, SE22 9NA. There is Dulwich Test Centre who are a pillar of the local community and Araujo motors who is a more budget version but still very reliable and friendly.

theres only one good machanic around the area and that is andy at peacocks in chadwick road se15 .wouldnt go anywhere near the others that have been mentioned .he just did my focus and its like a totally diffrent car now .they also do bodywork and are very reasonably priced and the work is to a high standard.

used one for cv boot they left driveshaft loose,and the other a friend had them mot his car it came to well over ?200 and there was nothing wrong with the car ,pads was over 60% and discs was ok.

Hi canela, I always use 'Pitstop garage' on upland road, se22 9eg. They are such nice guys, very honest and professional. Pop in there anytime, mention you were recommended from the forum and they will be happy to help.

Two years on and I thought I should corroborate that Andy and Chris and Peacocks are absolutely brilliant. They go out of their way to help - drew me diagrams of parts, got my VW van into tip top shop, reasonable prices and they're all great guys too! I've had a very good experience with them so far and I highly recommend them too. To be fair though - I haven't tried any other local garages....
