Hi ya, other than the obvious trips to park, soft play, swimming, library, cafe treat trip, staying at home can anyone recommend local drop in activities for 4 year olds? Looking for things on the calmer / quiet side as he'll have been at pre school all day so don't want to overload him but also trying not to fall in to a TV afternoon type routine?! Happy for that to happen some days but would quite like to vary things up too! Have heard / seen on here good things about Captured On The Rye so will give that a go but wondered if anyone had other suggestions too. Thanks in advance.
One o clock club at Peckham Rye (think is now called Peckham Play rooms) is good for some indoor activities. Or trips to the library? Trip over to the Dish & the Spoon - toys there plus nice food. I must admit when my 4 yr old was going ot school nursery half days we didn't do much wiht the rest of the day - occasionally a quick visit to one of the smaller playgrounds - but found it a fine line between a bit of extra using up of energy and tipping over into overtired/wound up. Oh - baking? There are those Crafty Cooks classes. Depending on if you have other kids/what ages they are, trip to the cinema could be good too.

    • Let's not forget this is the lowest level of local politics. If McCash really thought his defection could trash the Labour Party nationally, and it was loaded with invective and exhibitionism, then that's pretty much the definition of a "hissy fit"! Scooping the Green nomination for DaWN constituency is also going to be a lot harder for a Marxist arriviste than you suggest. There may be a wave of new, younger Polanski-ites that have joined the Green Party of E&W recently, but it's the long-standing, often retired members of the Party that tend to participate in candidate interview panels and bother voting in selections...
    • They've had 26 years or so of trading, and if anyone deserves decent retirement... In my view they're going out at the top. It's clearly being sold, assuming it all goes through as a very more more than just a going concern.
    • I had heard this was on the cards a while ago, sad, the end of an era, but well done Rod and Tim for stewarding a beacon of excellence for so many years.
    • Both your hopes will be fine, I think. Our waitress will stay on. The downstairs is getting refurbished, and the bar area enlarged, presumably by removing that awkward little 'lobby' by the loos.
