Wanted: Roofer recommendations (Urgent)

Water at basement level doesn't really sound like a leaking roof! But if you really think it could be a roof problem, try Nick from Abbey Roofing - 07966 285 679. He came round to our place today to diagnose/fix a broken gutter and was very helpful indeed.

Just wanted to add to the recommendations for Nick. Last night we had a leak through a bedroom wall from the outside of our house. It looked like it might be related to the down pipe/guttering. I called Nick first thing, he came round this afternoon, went up a ladder and fixed the problem there and then. He was friendly, efficient and reasonably priced - a fab service, especially on a Friday!

Thank you for the recommendation.

Also just wanted to add to the recommendations for Nick. He's a delightful, very relaxed guy who was happy to attend to a blocked gutter (far too high for me to get to) - albeit a very small job. He came at very short notice and was happy to return the next day to collect his money as I didn't have any cash on me at the time! Would use him again with no hesitation. Highly recommended. 07966 285679

Nick came yesterday to clean our gutters and I would highly recommend him: he was punctual, reasonably priced and very pleasant to deal with. As well as cleaning the gutters, he gave us some helpful advice on maintenance. I will use him again. His number is 07966 285679

    • Anywhere near the Overground/Windrush due to its excellent transport links.  You will get larger place in SE23 for example that will give you enough spare cash for private school if that's what you really want but states schools generally good, reflecting the demographic  Easy to get to the bustling streets of East Dulwich but in ten years see what happens to Forest Hill centre.  The whole of the area is full of green spaces. Access to East Croydon for days out in the South Coast
    • Could East Dulwich or Forest Hill work? Some properties on Underhill Road and Wood Vale have large gardens e.g.  https://www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/161079866#/?channel=RES_BUY  You'd be close to the Horniman, Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye. Transport might not be what you're looking for though e.g. a 15 minute walk to Forest Hill station for the East London line or mainline into London Bridge.
    • I would leave London, or at a push move back to north London. In SE London if you want to get away in a car you are trapped, always an hour to go the first 10 miles, chugging up to the M4 or round the south circular, which is really just a line someone drew connecting a load of roads. and I know there are trains but first you have to get to those mainline stations, unless you only want to leave London to go to Kent. which I don't.
    • It was you who  made it personal in the first place,  Jazzer. You said you didn't feel safe in the streets,  and you said you didn't go to Central London because you didn't feel safe there. So are you now saying that wasn't "personal"? "Fire from the hip." Another interesting choice of words 🙄 I'm not "demanding" anything! I asked you some perfectly reasonable questions in  response to your own statements. None of which you have answered. Never mind. It seems to be pointless having a discussion with you. It's long past my bedtime. I'm going to turn on my sleep app  and go to sleep 😴💤
