Armed man in Barry Rd - in 1943.

Some time ago I posted details of some gallantry awards made for rescue work after bombing in 1941. In the posts that followed some one found that some other police officers had received awards following the arrest of an armed man in Barry Road.

The attached file is a copy of the recommendation for the awards in this case.

Wasn't this the one where the armed man was under seige at the top of a house on Barry Rd and shot himself through the head and died ?

If so, although the policemen may have been brave during the siege, there was no arrest.
