(Always sad to see a bookshop go. But to blame its demise on 'ed new folk' shows an almost comical dislike of 'incomers'.)...

Mattham, get a grip.

WHY? are 'new-combers' tarred with the same brush? Drop the ridiculous social-elitist shit. Old v new. Is this not a forum for ED? or an old v new basher enclave. I'm so over reading all the negative comments about new so-called Claphamites moving here.

I know lots of new-combers who are amazingly down to earth and have enriched the community here. You're living in la-la land if you think that East Dulwich was better 10 years ago than now. And I don't profess to be a fan of Foxton's or chains a like, in fact the opposite.

Please, I ask, refrain from ridiculous sweeping generalisations about 'new people'

Thanks :))

Errmm, I think Mattham was saying something similar (only not quite as aggresive/rude...) as you Kels. He/she was pointing out that to square the blame with 'ED newcomers' was a bit daft.......

I'm sorry to see the bookshop go, although they didn't have a fantastic range, I never left empty handed and the staff were always really helpful.

Well I had half a dozen shops earlier in my career, and those were the biggest long term costs, second only to the cost of staff.

I have seen no reason to change my views, unless a shopkeeper tells me otherwise.

Do give it a go.
    • Greens have some mad polices and I am still trying to work out if it is true that the leader of the party thought he could hypnotize women to have larger breasts 🤷‍♂️ country is in a real state at the min and all party’s have a part to play in that. what the future holds who knows but it is worrying.
    • A stellar win for the Greens in Gorton and Denton, no doubt. But by-elections are funny beasts. Labour's strength traditionally has been in its ground game. Legions of canvassers over many years in many seats usually means that they are best placed to 'get out the vote' on election day. I can't quite believe that the Greens have enough data, or people, to wrest control of the council from Labour.
