Hi all,

We need child care for that final hour between Nursery closing at 6.30 and us getting home at 7-7.30 twice a week. (Tuesdays and Thursdays with 'possible' ad hoc Fridays here and there)

We understand that this is probably too few hours to be worthwhile for one carer to commit to, so wondered about the possibility of sharing a carer? Maybe your child goes to the same nursery, (Little Jungle, Amott Road) and live nearby?

Failing that, any childminders who could fit us in please get in touch.. or if anyone has any recommendations, that would be really helpful.

Thanks all - and Happy New Year too!

I've had a similar problem except we needed someone from 445pm or 545pm 3 days a week and I don't get back until 730pm. So 2 of those days my baby (7 momths) will be in nursery - and my daughter is in reception. We have had to go for babysitters for now. am looking at maybe using a nanny instead. I haven't even thought about the school holidays yet!!

    • Would this not be a complaint better aimed at the council? Isn't it an anti social behaviour issue?  I think of myself as pretty live-and-let-live and feel like a miserable cow for saying this, but I do think I might complain. Personally I love the sound of fireworks but our dog is under the table, shaking like a leaf night after night and collapses in the street when he hears the noise.  I'm worried his heart'll give out.
    • The lower / no bang noise fireworks sound great.    Is there anywhere local selling those?
    • This petition to reduce the noise of fireworks is currently going through Parliament https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/738192
    • Have you complained to the solicitor directly and did they respond within the 8 weeks they have under their code of conduct - I presume they have and this is why you have escalated further to the SRA? If he doesn't respond in a timely fashion per the SRA code of conduct then I am sure they will need to take action.
