we have had cartons of milk and cream disappear from our doorstep many days recently. we have now discovered that a fox is the rascally culprit. we want to buy a hinged lidded container for the milkman to leave our goods in. does anyone know where such an item can be bought. please don't suggest making one. I am decorative rather than functional.

You can buy plastic storage boxes with catches at both ends, all different sizes. ('Really Useful' is the best make)

Then leave a note for the milkman asking if he would please be so kind as to leave the milk etc inside the container.

Much safer than something with a hinged lid that can be easily be knocked over & opened.

Plus of course you would have to leave the box behind a hedge or wall away from view. Otherwise in ED it would be at risk of being stolen.

    • Hi Busterb, Yesterday I turned up with a scanner & towels, hoping to take a deceased tabby down to TNV. The body was moved moments before arrival & had not been turned in to any vets, rescues or animal hospitals. I am wondering if this could have been the same cat & if someone just tried to move the tabby further away from the road. Please be warned, viewers discretion is advised. but this is what the deceased tabby looked like: https://www.facebook.com/groups/900015513463302/permalink/3729980853800073/  In any case, if you haven't been able to get someone to scan or take down to a vet, I can scan tomorrow morning.
