... both from a recycling standpoint and ensuring any security info on it doesn't fall into the wrong hands. I managed to stand on my Toshiba laptop yesterday resulting in a cracked screen, it wasn't so bad that it was unusable but today while attempting a speed test using a Ethernet cable with a short reach I managed to pull it off the table ensuring that it is now properly knackered. It was fairly cheap and I'm not heartbroken that it's gone but I would like some advice regarding disposal. Cheers, M.

1) Take hard disk out. Beat to death with a hammer

2) Flog the rest on eBay as spare parts/repair job.

Hi,

I'm not sure if he's still there but I took my old laptop to Christian who runs the computer repair shop on Pellatt Road.

He managed to back it up on to a USB stick and disposed of it for me, ensuring he'd securely wipe the hard drive.

Alternatively you can drop it off at Sydenham library which takes in and recycles all computer equipment, in fact any electrical items.

The best ones they refurbish and sell for low prices.

They are closed Weds and Fri though.
