Bad incident on Lordship Lane outside Co-Op?

Around 4.30pm today there were lots of police cars and an ambulance blocking Lordship Lane, and police redirecting traffic up North Cross Road (and presumably up another road the other side).

Does anybody know what happened? There seemed to be at least two buses in the part of the road which was blocked off.

Hope nobody was badly hurt :(

I don't know anything except there was a notice about an accident at the start of the 40 bus route at Aldgate, to say diversions etc! I really hope anyone involved is okay.

Looks like somebody was hit by a car or knocked off a bike. Looked like he was in a bad way the ambulance took him on a stretcher.

I was there around 5pm and a worker in a shop said a 90 year old man was taken to hospital.
