full wheelie bin - where to leave rubbish?

Hi.

Having just moved in to our house, we have a lot of recycling waste and our bin is now full. Can I bag up the excess and have it taken by the council with the normal collection or do I have to take it somewhere myself?

You can ask the council to take it for you, I would suggest the wheelie bin stops foxes pulling it out whereas sacks soon get messy.

To deal with it sooner we can use big public bins, eg on Peckham Rye between the Park gates and the green space.

We have the same problem. There are recycling facilities at the back of the sainsburys car park. Also a few recycling bins in the choumert road car park. For non recyclable stuff you can take it to the tip, or if you don't have a car, pay someone to do it for you.

The council will take them for you up to 15 sacks free of charge. That is what we did when we moved to our house .

Hi Laura, call 02075252000 and ask for a bulky waste pickup booking, you'll be able to book a slot for up to 15 items or bags (you'll need to give them a bit of info on the type of items you are disposing of).

Hi Nick, it sounds like for some reason your last collection was missed. You should have a recyclables collection once a fortnight. Either you could ring the same number or go via the web page (sorry it appears to be down at the moment) or pm me with you address details and I'll chase it up for you.
