It seems every time I try on a Sunday to get the train, its either the bus replacement or cancelled completely. The last time I got the train successfully for my 15 min journey was December! Understandably, works need to be done over the weekends but surely not most weekends.......

Trains are normally every 15 mins on Sunday from ED, however the services via Streatham Common are cancelled due to engineering works.

Not only were they only running every half hour on Saturday, but the train times given on the website were wrong.

I turned up in plenty of time to get the 1.18, only to find that the trains were actually at 1.04 and 1.34, and I had just missed the 1.04.

I had to get a bus to the Elephant and then pick up the Northern Line from there. Only just made it to my class in Camden. GRRRRR.

In the last 4 recorded years (between 07/08 and 11/12 ), the number of travellers getting on or off a train at East Dulwich station has increased from 1,360,087 to 2,085,892. It would be good if this exponential growth in traveller numbers could somehow be reflected in the number of trains provided.

That's just not true, they are still every 10 mins in morning/evening rush hour and every 15 mins in the evenings.

But yes of course the weekend service is abysmal and we're all sick of the bloody rail replacement bus service. But that's not the same as "the net gain is nought".

    • Actually, if it was factory fitted then it's location would be documented. It's the fact that it can be fitted in different places which means that it's difficult for thieves to locate.
    • OK, good suggestion and it appears that the after-market price is about £260. But if that that was fitted ex-factory then the cost would be substantially less and certainly a small fraction of the price of a high-end car.
