SMURPHY71
Hello,Does anyone have any recommendations (or nightmares you think best avoided!) for solicitors for property? My neighbour and I are looking for someone to perform the conveyancing on the purchase of our property's freehold. We were using a local one (I won't name names out of fear as they are lawyers after all!), but their sluggishness and general disinterest has rather put us off them, so we thought we'd try elsewhere. Many thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/41309-solicitor-recommendation/ Share on other sites
Pugwash
We have used William Bailey in Lordship Lane for a couple of property related issues. We had a 2 month deadline on a house we purchased and all the work was completed within 7 weeks. kitwe
I would recommend Hepburns in Blackwater street as well, They are very approachable and thorough-we have always dealt with Nick Harper who I couldn't recommend more highly, Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/41309-solicitor-recommendation/#findComment-721072 Share on other sites

sophiesofa
We're also looking for a conveyancing solicitor. I've had one quote in at over 1k for sale (about 500k share of freehold flat) and another 1k+ for purchase (around 350-400k house). Is that normal?! Last time we used a cheap company in Kent, but they were a bit useless. Is it worth paying extra to have it all done locally? I've just emailed William Bailey to request a quote from them. I was going to email Hepburns but they don't have an email address on their website which seems very old school so has put me off! egoode
I'd also recommend Caroline at Glazer Delmar she's been fantastic through a very difficult flat purchase.
