wood yards

Don't ask for 'wood' though.

Otherwise you run the risk of being faced by an array of Biggus-Dickus-Style corpsing staff 'sorry, mate, we don't do wood!' - until you realise the hilarity of your schoolboy error and ask for 'timber'.

(Not in Whitten though - they're all dead nice in there)

Salsaboy you are so not wrong there the place is amazing and *Bob* you are so not wrong either, however, between the staff and the customers today they were so funny anyway even though I didn't ask for *wood* but must say it normally terrifies me walking into a place like a wood yard but this was so friendly, both the staff and the customers laughing and joking at no-ones expense which has kept a smile on my face all day. Oh and got exactly what I wanted...now I need to go back and get the rest of what I need. Would recommend the place anyday.

    • Yawn.. as I and others suspected the noticeboard is already looking shabby, has the details of local councillors who in my experience are of very limited help with anything at all (e.g. noticeboard took several years of writing to get back in working order and now isn't being kept up to date with any useful local info about food banks or any services as promised). So nothing at all in left hand side. Pointless and a real shame as could benefit so many small businesses.. and no I don't own a small business I just believe in supporting shopping locally where possible and know they often have little to no marketing budget.
