  1. Newwave - So am I best post in a long time...
  2. James interesting you say that about Denmark Hill as everytime I have been there recently the barriers have just been open. I thought it may be that they only have a few and the amount of traffic of people they get going through to visit Kings is huge. Also they have the train destination boards on the side wall and people are standing in the small space trying o work out what platform they need and blocking the barriers. May be worth you checking this out during the daytime, I am not sure about rush hour at the station.
  3. Peckham is the only one I know - here's a link... http://www.fusion-lifestyle.com/cms_uploads/file/London_Borough_of_Southwark/Peckham_Pulse_Healthy_Living_Centre/Peckham_Spa_suite_info.pdf not used it yet so not sure how i works but if you go feedback would be welcome.

  6. Well said LadyDeliah And it is true that many people neglect to think about the effects on young men and buy into the *cougar* society...and with the changes in the Sexual Offences Act 2003 and the later revisions we are now able to prosecute women for sexual offences that previously we couldnt. ------------------------------------------------------- > That's not necessarily true PT. 11. That was lovely to read. I am a trained reiki practitioner and its not often people try something new to them but its great to read that you had a good session and sharing that with others who may be skeptical at times. My dad, who was a big skeptic, now takes up my offer of a treatment and that's a turn around for him as he is very old and set in his ways.
  12. Salsaboy you are so not wrong there the place is amazing and *Bob* you are so not wrong either, however, between the staff and the customers today they were so funny anyway even though I didn't ask for *wood* but must say it normally terrifies me walking into a place like a wood yard but this was so friendly, both the staff and the customers laughing and joking at no-ones expense which has kept a smile on my face all day. Oh and got exactly what I wanted...now I need to go back and get the rest of what I need. Would recommend the place anyday.
  13. Hello I am trying to get some wood or MDF cut to size for a project I am doing and need to source something 1cm thick that is fairly sturdy - any recommendations on wood yards in Southwark area that are friendly and will help advise me. Thanks

  15. Thank you for this entertaining thread and yes better this than all the horrible trolling at times...it made me laugh and not get angry : ) and I learned something new about politics...haha
  16. katanita Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Oh good, not going mad. You may also see/hear another horse that I have seen a couple of times in the last year teathered to a lampost, with no saddle, in CPR - first time I thought I was going mad ... all the kids were in the road as I was driving up and I had to stop thinking 'what the hell is happening here' as I couldn't drive past and the kids were photographing the horse on their mobiles...made me laugh as the kids were all excited and it wasnt a police horse... did see it on another occasion in the same place...
  17. I live in a block of flats where we are not fortunate to have lots of different coloured bins in our gardens that we can complain about the colour or even gardens that we can prune/cut and need a bin for - so just be grateful of what you have x We have to collect our rubbish and our recycling in our tiny flats and then walk it in the correct bags to the bins x one rubbish and one recycling - oh for a brown bin we really want one of those but hey no matter how much we ask we will never get one but someone has started a compost bin in the grounds where we can walk our food waste to or take it to the allotments who are grateful for the contributions x We all lead busy lives but it doesn't take long to walk to a communal bin (and families with children make it an adventure) that is what we need more of, communal bins not individual ones in everyone's gardens and then the council would spend less time empty them than collecting individual bins weekly/fortnightly there may need to be a rota but it could be worked it is in European countries so why not here... but because people are not trusted/educated to walk their rubbish/recycling to the bins then people will have a multitude of bins in their gardens ...
  18. Dear missbabs That sound interesting I will give them a call. Thank you for the information.
  19. Dear Bonaome Thank you - I found a few through flikr but didn't realise you could sign up and contact people ... will check this out : )
  20. I am not sure where it is from x but I am sure someone on piniterest has it now x I saved it a while ago and never (derr) saved where from just loved the image x and wonder who it is...is it mothers they look young but they could be or is it older sisters - my sister is 15yrs older than me so it could be ... or aunts I am 8-24yrs older than my neices and nephews so it could be ... but the photo is lush and those sweet babies - thats why if I had a point I could find out something about the photo - I have nothing to go on here just a gorgeous picture inspired by art x
  21. Sue you are so right and how amazing must that have been at this time. A really good book i have just read is Audrey Linkman 'The Victorians: Photographic Portraits when she talks about how we do not focus on the private and the intimate but focus on the public in modern day life x its so different nowadays and would be lovely if we could do this with our dead x
  22. Dear Minder Not always are things published in papers aswell as the website, many newspapers do bit of both so worth checking out their website as often they lso miss out what is in the paper. So much information and so little time I think, my dad often tells me about articles I cant find online so he posts them to me. I do love (if that's the right word) these pictures and especially poignant the couple with the baby and the mother holding her forehead but the ones I rally want I will add a picture for example but would so love to actually either know who the people are in the picture of be able to find out (unlike many of the pictures from this time) Thank you for your comment x
  23. Dear Laur Thank you for the link. If its not to intrusive to ask what did you think when you read it. When I found out about them I was urrgh that is horrible.
