Make a Difference at Work

Our company, Crunchers Accountants based in SE5, is expanding and has a part-time position for an administrator / bookkeeper, with good people skills, ?22-24k pro rata.

Initially we are looking someone to work circa 15 hours a week, with the opportunity to extend as the business progresses.

As a firm of accountants we are obviously concerned with bookkeeping, annual accounts, tax and other financial administration however we are focused on making a difference to our clients through helping them grow and expand their businesses.

The position would suit someone who is well organised, with a genuine interest in and concern for our clients ? small businesses across South London. Eventually we will be asking the right candidate to start managing a small team of more junior staff.

With the Director, you will be part of creating the culture of the practice as it expands, striking the right balance between professionalism and a relaxed atmosphere.

Education and development is at the heart of our business and training will be provided. Experience of bookkeeping and administration is preferred but not essential to the right candidate.

To apply please send a CV and covering letter explaining why you think this is the right job for you to: [email protected]

    • Typically the way 'family run businesses' operate is either to have family members continue the business, or to sell on, either as a site (in this instance) or as a going concern. Either which way this is the way the owners create a 'pension' from the business. The number of suggestions as to alternatives makes me feel that the market for small repairing garages locally may be well served, so selling on the site makes the best financial sense for the owners. It's a sign not of the times but of normal business realities.
    • I agree it's a shame, but it is not a "sign of the times", unless you think that up to now people have never grown older and retired!
