So in addition to our car being keyed again in the last week or so while parked on Melbourne Grove (right near Lordship lane), it has now also had the driver side wing mirror smashed in. This looks very deliberate and was on the pavement side of the car, like someone just walked past and punched it. I discovered this yesterday morning whilst getting in the car to take my dad to the airport and spent much of the ride convincing him that East Dulwich is really a lovely place to live, and is really very safe, we just seem to have a major problem with car vandals. I'm so angry and going to have to shell out for a new wing mirror now on top of fixing the two spots where it has been keyed. We have reported this to the police now and I would encourage anyone else who has had even minor vandalism to their cars to do the same, as I hope that will help them take it all seriously.

Same here.... 3 times now, keying (a lovely little flower painting and a long scratch on the roof), denting and now they tried smashing the windscreen (left a little hole). Also someone drove into it and there are big dents on the roof. Different locations - Lordship Lane near Pellatt Road, on Pellatt Road and now also opposite Colwell Road which I thought must be safer as away from the pub.I just bought the car without a scratch a month ago and it's now looking really rough. It's just a silver polo, nothing fancy but it's really annoying - especially if they try to smash windscreens now....

    • Agree that councils were not allowed to plough back housing revenue to create or improve stock. Young people especially, if they are lucky to have a decent job salary wise, find it impossible almost to find rented accommodation which is in a reasonable condition. We have a family member who is sharing a 3 bed ex council flat in Kings Cross area and are paying £2,500 pm between the 4 of them plus all utilities.
    • It wasn’t that long ago that Southwark planted a strip of seed bearing plants specifically for birds. It was parallel to Peckham Rye by the Harris Boys’ school. Naturally, it has disappeared courtesy of Gala.
    • Silly comment.  Read the attachment.  Or go to i-player and watch Winterwatch: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/documentaries/winterwatch-jack-baddams-protect-birds-comment/ Our gardens are not natural, many of the birds that use them are dependent on us.  Most of us feed the birds, including myself, do it for our own pleasure rather than in a belief that we are reversing the damage done to nature by humans over recent centuries.
    • Thanks @Sue I had no idea what they delivered. Personally I just dont get why anyone living in London would bother with something like this, We can all pop down the road and buy bread, pastries etc and know what we're getting.. Just seems a bit of a yuppie fad and waste of money. But thats just my opinion!
