In the interests of fairness - we used loftlife a couple of years ago and they were excellent.

I have no connection with them (other than paying them to do our loft) but I do feel that if you're going to put a post up about any business like this (that could potentially greatly harm their business) you should at least be open about the issues that you experienced and not ask people to speak to you about it behind closed doors after posting a very negative headline

Are you "not recommending" them based on them destroying your house or because you didn't like the color of their van ?

An extreme example but I also know lots of people who have had mixed experiences with loft conversions - with lots of different companies. Some of those experiences were genuinely poor, some were people setting unrealistic expectations when having a building site on top of their house

    • Greg is a massively skilled, talented, meticulous, careful and lovely man who can turn his hand to anything and make it beautiful. He's decorated many rooms in our formerly tatty old house, fitted a beautiful (and very complicated) bathroom, and taken on some fairly serious building jobs including structural ones implementing an engineer's design. He solves problems, works openly and collaboratively on plans, and his standards are impeccable. He's also a lovely guy to have around. I'd have him back and recommend him to anyone, with no hesitation.  By way of further testimonial, he's ended up doing work for half our street through neighbour recommendations and EVERYONE who has used his services is delighted.
    • Thanks very much, it's helpful to know who takes them 🙏
    • They are leaning in from the verge and chopping branches from the trees they don’t like the look of. These are people who mowed their lawns twice weekly during NoMow May, and treat all wild flowers and plants as weeds. They can’t be convinced otherwise. I wish the Dulwich Estate would promote biodiversity more proactively, instead of merely paying lip service.
