Trampolines in the garden

Random question but we're thinking of getting our son a trampoline for the garden. Does anyone know if you can keep them up year round or are you supposed to take them down over the winter to keep dry?

Ours stays up all year round and doesn't seem to have come to any harm. We bought a cover for it (like a big top tent top) but have never bothered to use it.....

I'm thinking of doing the same, can I jump in and ask which one you're going for? There seem to be a huge price range just within the same size specifications....

One word of caution, if you get a lot of foxes in your garden, you might want to put some sort of protective cover over it. Ours got the elastic chewed through.

We had a below ground trampoline and always removed the mat in the winter, because we got snow. Also, you would need to check into what effect freezing temps would have on it. Agree with the fox comment, they chew everything.

Hoppermum I've just done a bit of research and found out about steel thickness ( needs to be more than 1.8mm thick) and no of springs related to bouncability- clearly I've gone a bit too far into this! But anyway. I've got mine from trampoline warehouse, their price includes a net and ladder and free next day delivery, it's just arrived and is blocking the living room but all very exciting. We went for an acrobat plus 8foot - trampoline warehouse give a little run down of power v's response. Again I've nerded out haven't I?!

yes ours stays up all year. We have a ten footer with net and ladder. We have had it several years, and have easily managed to replace the pad, net and the odd springs which went walkies.
