I caught a bit of this on the luchtime news at the story qwas breaking but I missed the detail. The only place I can find any info is sky news so anyone have any more news?

Also who thinks the Americans are trying to provoke a war with Iran - in light of the Warship that was captured after 'accidently' straying into Iranian waters earlier in the year?

It was an aid flight on a Hungarian plane. It's been allowed to complete its journey to Afghanistan.

I think it's unlikely that the US would want to provoke a war with Iran right now, and recently they voted down an Israeli resolution to bomb the nuclear facilities.

Yeh I knew they made Isreal back off, that's why I was a bit shocked by this incident. Thanks for the info - but are you sure it wasn't American? It may have been a rogue US pilot or something and the Hungarian story is to stop it escalating.

I think we can be pretty confident it was what it was. When a British patrol strayed into Iranian waters the media value was maximised, some might say milked, then the sailors let go to show Iranian magnanimity.

If this was a US military supply plane could you imagine, but it left after a short delay, not much mileage to be gained from impounding an aid plane.

Move along, nothing to see here.

    • Thanks penguin  always wondered about that place and that’s way more info than I ever thought I would get  (used to live above a gun nut on friern road - he would tell me nothing)
    • There was a Saturday afternoon crowd of enthusiasts, and at other times the owner might have been off acquiring stock. He also repaired air guns, which he also sold. He stocked edged weapons, uniforms, including antique uniforms, air guns and ammo and starting pistols and shot. Some medals and other militaria. Quite a lot of ex service chit chat on a Saturday. I had an amateur interest, didn't deal a lot, in English pattern swords and other mainly 19th century militaria. And made some good purchases there. I'm afraid WWII and later events was the major focus of most of the regulars.
    • Did anyone actually venture in to that place? I recall it always being closed/very uninviting!
