East dulwich grove pelican crossing by Dulwich communtiy hospital had car upto my feet using this pelican crossing.

my hubby disabled and has to use this everyday and nearly very day cars just speed over it even when see you trying to cross.

not well lite...... think should be a traffic light rather than pelican as another pelican further up and that ones ok seem to stop at that one.

near glenarry road.

melbourne grove adjoining east dulwich grove a nightmare as cars coming at you 4/5 ways and often speeding, lot children use that one.

Agree with you here, Sean, and you raise an intersting point re: 'accidents'. Police now refer to them as 'collisions' rather than accidents as generally they will find that somebody was at fault whether due to careless /drunk /impatient /arrogant driving and therefore cannot really be considered an accident.

Tinkering with pavement furniture, kerbs, bollards, humps and bumps, pelicans etc is not going to address the root cause of this anti-social behaviour.

Put speed traps up all over the place, snap everyone doing 25mph in the 20 zone, or 35 in the 30 zone, instant ₤150 fine in the post.

You'd only need to run it one day a month to start to affect behaviour. Also, our council tax would be slashed by all the extra money coming in.

Totally agree with Izodia about the zebra crossings - for example whenever I cross the one between Dulwich Picture Gallery and Dulwich park, cars actually accelerate. Someone told me it's technically illegal to drive over zebra crossings as you have to always approach them at a speed at which you could stop, which made me laugh, although I'm not entirely sure whether it's true.

    • I'm not sure the word "mysterious" actually means "completely impossible to identify". More that it's a mystery who they are. Anyone know anything about Jonathan Edwards or George Napier? The address given for them both is local - oh, actually, no, it's a flat above a coffee shop in Shoreditch. That's odd, you'd think they'd at least be South of the river. Never mind, who's the other Director - oh, "EDITION CAPITAL DIRECTORS LTD", who / which is also Director of 35 other companies, several of which are "In administration" or "Liquidated". No, that's not mysterious at all...
