Review of Country Homes - good products, fairly poor customer service

I love the furniture in Country Homes. Having read some reviews on here, I was slightly worried about their customer service, and while I think it has probably improved, it still isn't great. If you buy something that is in stock/off the shelf it all seems very straightforward. If you buy something tailor made, they don't give you clear dates as to when it would be in (I was told late March and chased the following 2 Fridays after that before it came in). I was originally told I could have it delivered 'whenever I wanted' - however I soon found out that the 2nd thing I ordered could only be delivered on Saturdays as it was too big and had to be in a van which they only have Saturdays. I also couldn't pick which Saturday. When I originally ordered it I asked about measurements and was also told the height 'would fit anywhere' - which unfortunately isn't true; the top plate didn't fit due to low ceilings so wasn't able to be put on (doesn't impact too much, but highly annoying it isn't a full finished product due to them telling me it would be fine and so me not double checking).

Overall I love the products and think it is really good value, but am likely to only go back if I want to buy something already in store and ready to take home rather than something custom made.

I would strongly recommend anyone looking to buy from Country Homes to

a) check that www.OakFurnitureland.co.uk doesn't have it cheaper.

b) check that the Oak Furniture land shop on Old Kent Road (the clearance centre for Oak Furniture Land) doesn't have it in stock for a seriously cheap price.

    • You don't need a gym to lose 10kg. Get a set of dumbbells and maybe a resistance band, find a HIIT channel you like on youtube and workout in your room, eat clean and go out every day. £115/mo is ridiculous. I thought they were supposed to be about £20 to £30 and most people give up come February anyway.
    • Point taken..I go 3-4 times a week and have done every week for several years however £115 a month is still a lot of money for many people (myself included) for a 'non essential' One can if one wishes excersise by running or Cycling, swimming once in a while. Gym membership IS a luxury...
    • Tawny owls are hooting in Dawsons Heights very near me. But very elusive birds. Sadly now on the amber list.  I have heard the owls every night for the past couple of weeks  It is good to know they are here. They are quite loud so I think they are very near. I have never seen an owl in the wild before and wish I  could  see them.
