Hardly pizzaless! There's already an excellent pizza place on Lordship Lane - Sorsi & Morsi.

Seabag yes they do have a frontage to trade from, but it all depends who comes along to fill the empty places. I can't see a chain taking on the speedo pizza site, nor can I really imagine another independent. If anything, I reckon it will probably imagine an already existing business investing the time and money into an expansion or second outlet selling food. Maybe Blue Mountain ED 2? Hope and greenwood ED 2? Who knows. I personally would be happy with a prey a manger but that won't happen.

Louisa.

Amen to that Foxy. At last common sense prevails. It's Italiam peasant food akin to cheese on toast with a added extras. Then the poncy as you like gang move in and try and make it something it isn't! Average price 10-15 quid in certain places maybe more. Disgrace.

Louisa.

Twitter update from Franco Manca: they're opening a branch in South Ken in October, which is before the ED one is set to open. Apparently the building is "putting up a fight". I give this purely for information purposes without taking sides as to their priciness or ponciness.

I'm amazed they took on that building. It's a terrible layout. They're definitely doing the right thing by flattening the floor out, but it must be costing them a fortune.

They'd fold in a week.

Judging by the amount of interest they have attracted they will have nightly queues outside, so I'm pretty sure they think it's worth the time money and effort. All I can conclude is that people around here love posh-cheese on toast, seeing as we still do not have a noodle bar, Mexican, Vietnamese, or any other world food you care to mention. If you love a pizza or a curry LL is the place for you! I checked out the Tortilla website, it seems like a posh Subway, they've just opened in Clapham.

Louisa.

You're right, it was El Passo..Forgot that. Then, from memory, it went through a major refurb & came out looking just as tacky as before, but called Dos Amigos, before biting the dust completely. Just as Mexican/Latin American food finally took off:)

Then fold again and re-open as a burrito bar

Loving your work maxxi, it's not gone unnoticed here :)

Fresh California Burritos and Tacos are just the sort of thing you'd get for a cinema visit. Hand held and easy to eat, plus they're relatively inexpensive too

Naked with Guac 'n Jack, just rolls of the tongue

    • That said, organised displays could be on Saturday before and after and the actual day, and private ones could just not have the loud ones.  It’s all down to accessibility and people caring/not caring
    • The problem this year is that 5th November falls on a Wednesday. So some places will be bringing their "bonfire night" forward to Saturday 1st and some will be knocking it back to Saturday 8th and there'll probably be a few that just go with Wednesday 5th anyway. If you're doing a public display, having it on a weekend gets more crowds. Which basically means a solid week of fireworks.
    • Fireworks in this area do feel totally incessant at this time of year, almost every evening there is terrible noise. I feel great concern for wildlife, pets (I have a senior cat who hates them), as well as people who struggle with PTSD etc. Last year I even had people setting them off in front of my home. Tonight and yesterday evening have been particularly bad. Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent this? What action can we take? Surely we shouldn’t be expected to just put up with it every year for weeks on end!
    • Does anyone know what time tonight's events, the second night of the new phenomenon of Halloween Fireworks, end? These do sound too major to be anything but large- scale organised events and they are loud, very loud. So anyone, for their own reasons, that dislikes or objects to this level of noise for the next x amount of hours, really has no choice in the matter! Could those addicted to loud bangs possibly have a kind of silent disco setup with the bangs sent through headphones, so the rest of us could be spared?
