We are a group of local parents proposing a new, all-through (4-18) community school for Peckham and Nunhead.

Our aim is to offer a modern, rounded education that will enable every young person to fulfil their individual potential in an evironment of high aspiration. It will be located on the borders on Peckham Rye and Nunhead, and provide a dynamic and academic curriculum for its pupils and a hub for the local community.

It will be a relatively small school, with a two-form entry and primary and four-form entry at secondary school (class sizes of 30).

We are holding two public meetings for interested people to come and meet us, hear about our plans, ask questions and share their views.

When: Tuesday 29 April from 7-9pm, and Saturday 3 May from 2-4pm.

Where: The Gowlett, 62 Gowlett Road, SE15 4HJ

If you would like to find out more about the school and the team behind it please visit peckhamfreeschool.com, or email us at [email protected]

Thanks,

The Peckham Free School team

    • Hi Dogkennelhillbilly, North of East dulwich station is not covered by the Dulwich Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) Suburban requirements.  And 1978 was before this guidance was agreed.  Hi Jenijenjen, We have vacant sites and sites that for certain heights would likely become available. Giibs & Dandy vacant builders yard - neighbours I've spoken to of this site are extremely concerned about what the council may now approve. Kwik Fit, Goose Green Trading Estate instantly come to mind as sites where tall buildings would bring a significant offer to the freeholders to see the sites up. The Southwark Plan treats Giibs & Dandy + Kwik Fit as one site suitable for residential redevelopment. It also lists the Trading Estate for this as well. See page.84 https://www.southwark.gov.uk/sites/default/files/2024-09/Southwark Plan 2022 reduced 1.pdf Do you think developers having seen the council approve a 9 storey redevelopment are more or less likely now to seek the same at other East Duwlcih locations?
    • It's not very important in the great scheme of things, just a tiny piece of ED history! My OH will remember, having a less ancient brain than mine!
    • I've got one you can borrow. I'll message you the details.
