Sue
Somebody/something, ie not me, has drafted a text on a message thread on my mobile. This is a bit disconcerting to say the least. It doesn't make sense, but has words and phrases in which could have been picked up from texts I've sent in the past.Am trying to contact Orange (soon to be RIP) but they're "receiving a very high number of calls, blah blah blah".Can anybody shed any light? I'm worried somebody could be somehow making calls from my number as well, even though I have the phone in front of me ..... :(Is this a more widespread problem? Sue
Just spoken to Orange who basically said nobody would bother to hack into my phone :)) :)) :))And that it must be "an anomaly". And just to delete the draft text.Oh, that's alright then.:( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/43576-hacked-mobile/#findComment-741500 Share on other sites

Sue
It said "All of music so tonight why that's so raven call of duty yes send to play not not certain the book of a plane":)) :)) :))And no I couldn't have typed it myself in some trance or something, as it appeared whilst the mobile was in my office charging overnight.....the "music" and "raven" (used to be a band, changed their name) could have been in texts I sent, but deffo not "call of duty" :)) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/43576-hacked-mobile/#findComment-741527 Share on other sites
the-e-dealer
If its recognisable text then maybe your phone memory is corrupt and needs a reset. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/43576-hacked-mobile/#findComment-741529 Share on other sites

Bluerevolution
Have you downloaded an anti-virus app ? I use AVG, very good and FREE Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/43576-hacked-mobile/#findComment-741539 Share on other sites
Otta
Yep, AVG is good, and it just gets on with it, you don't really have to do anything once you've downloaded it and chosen some options. ianr
Sue, the text looks to me more like the pseudo-English strings generated and used, among other things, to fool spam detectors. In earlier days they were used in psycholinguistics experiments on meaningfulness. Have a look at, say, http://agiliq.com/blog/2009/06/generating-pseudo-random-text-with-markov-chains-u/, for examples.I don't know exactly what's been published where in your case, but it sounds quite possibly to be just common, maybe 'random', mischief making. Maybe not unlike the Bot messages that appear on the forum sometimes. Interesting though. StraferJack
I strongly suspect this is a one off with an unknown but reasonable explanationAnti virus software on a phone is just bloated overhead Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/43576-hacked-mobile/#findComment-741563 Share on other sites
Jeremy
It's almost certainly a "something", not a "somebody". And that "something" would be a piece of software on your phone behving strangely, rather than some sort of malign interference. the-e-dealer
Its android viruses not so prevalent. I think its a memory leak bit of the phone message buffer leaking in to the drafts buffer. the-e-dealer
not if you do a full reset. - would lose any info on phone though! so if you backed it up? or maybe just upgrade! it would help if you delete anything you dont need from the phone. Sue
I really really don't want to do a full reset.I think I will wait and see if I get any more weird problems, given that I'm only three months (I think) away from an upgrade. Thanks for your help everyone!
