Need a new lawn laid

It all depends on the state of your lawn i.e if it need clearing of old lawn, rotivate, levelling e.c.t. This would take to gardeners cost x 2 then machinery if needed to rent with is normally under ?100 or if doing by hand more days more cost.

So in reality for a good job between ?690 - ?1000. HOWEVER if it was just to supply the turf without having to do any preparation & the site is ready for the lawn & gardener just have to lay, it would normally cost ?140 - ?230 depending on area size to lay lawn ONLY.

Hopes this helps

I ordered 28sq metres of lawn from turfland.co.uk in Feb for ?103.98, delivered within 2 days of ordering.

Took 10 mins to carry through house and less than an hour to lay.

So the ?800 quote you got (if it was just for laying the turf) was unreasonable.

Unless you want a prize lawn this job shouldn't require perfect prep and therefore excessive costs.

no way a lawn can be done in a day ,it would take a whole day to level off and prep it for the turfs,, average sized lawn, labour costs would be around the ?450 mark then cost of the turfs, prep may be more depending on the quality of the soil .but of course thete are cheaper quotes but then thats where you start to run in to problems ,a job cost what a job costs there no such thing as a cheap price .

Bank advised its staff that only x number of shares could be purchased by individuals as Government rules at that time. She reported that certain people were seeking double and triple shares. Bank told her to ignore the guidelines as those customers had thousands of pounds in the bank. She was so disgusted at the banks attitude she handed in her notice, She decided that the financial world was too corrupt. Two degrees later - she now works in the NHS as an OT in mental health unit.
