Looking for bassist for our band!

Recommended Posts

Hi all, not sure whether this is the right place to post this -

Our lovely bassist has moved abroad and so left an opening in our band. Please PM me if you're interested!

We are all friendly 30 somethings, and were essentially put together by a musician friend to form a band last year, but didn't know each other before starting so are very open to new people joining - i.e. we're aren't cliquey :0)

We currently are keyboard, drums and two female singers. There will be a spot for a guitarist as well a little later down the line once we're up and running with a bass player.

I'm the keyboard player and based in Peckham so can meet locally for instrumental stuff, but as a whole group we meet in rehearsal rooms in Central London about twice a month. We've played 1 gig before to about 100 people as part of a three band evening. It was great fun!

We are renting Shoreditch Town Hall to throw a halloween ball so that's our next gig. A while a way but gives us time to choose songs and work towards something. We all have busy work schedules too!

You'll need to be competent, but nowhere near pro. Double bass is a bonus if you have one.

Our song list includes so far:

Happy - Pharrell Williams

That Man - Caro Emerald

Radioactive - Imagine Dragons

Rolling in the Deep - Adele

Shine my shoes - Robbie Williams (it's a swing number, don't knock it until you've heard it).

So....Don't be shy, send me a PM!

Georgie

    • What a passionate thread this is. I have worked in cycling for years, am a cyclist, a driver, use public transport etc. Driving last night with my two young kids, who also cycle, we made the same observations. It was the kids who first asked me why are most cyclists wearing full black and no lights. We then played a game who can spot all the cyclists, and count those with lights and those without. This teaches them to look out for them but also not to put themselves in a position where we have to strain to find them.
    • On the plus side showers are warm down - for now 😆
    • I don’t know it. Cyclists who chose not to follow advice? Does that extend to pedestrians who fail to follow advice too? Do you “Wear or carry something light-coloured, bright or fluorescent in poor daylight conditions” when walking? As advised by the Highway Code? It’s quite grey out today. If not, and you get hit by a car, should there be no reason for sympathy?
