Hi All

I have a small utility room with a wood worktop. I had to use some oneshot (HCL acid) in the shower to clear a blockage. The gunk leaked onto the worktop, and left a stain (pic attached).

I sanded the wood, but the stain remained. I bought some dark wood stain, and have applied a coat, but it looks rubbish: the stained bits look like dark patches. What do I do? Add more coats of the stain, or do I just need to paint the wood now. If so, Am guessing I need to paint black?

Suggestions please!

Simon
