paco
Hi AllI have a small utility room with a wood worktop. I had to use some oneshot (HCL acid) in the shower to clear a blockage. The gunk leaked onto the worktop, and left a stain (pic attached). I sanded the wood, but the stain remained. I bought some dark wood stain, and have applied a coat, but it looks rubbish: the stained bits look like dark patches. What do I do? Add more coats of the stain, or do I just need to paint the wood now. If so, Am guessing I need to paint black? Suggestions please!Simon Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/43893-stained-wooden-worktop/ Share on other sites

Lowlander
you could try getting two stain shades - e.g. pine and mahogany - and try blending them to get the right colour. I managed that on a pine bannister rail to match the older ones.
