TONIGHT!!!!!! LIVE Beautiiful Music at Aquarius Golf Club. From 5.30pm. Unplugged Night. FREE!!!

Recommended Posts

A quick heads up for another great live music event at Aquarius Golf Club, Marmora Road, on Saturday 31st May, with music from around 6.00pm - possibly earlier. We ran an unplugged night last year, and it was undoubtedly the best music event we have outside of the Aquarius Festival.

For this magical night of acoustic music, we now have 5 confirmed artists/groups:

First up, Kingy with his incredible acoustic guitar mastery - blending styles of blues, bluegrass, folk and ragtime, he's almost a guitar festival in his own right!

LVJ - otherwise known as Louis Vann Johnson, will be returning with his unique blend of songwriting, awesome guitar playing, beat box and other cool stuff. Always a hit with the crowds, we're really pleased to have LVJ as an extra guest on the line up. Check out his amazing talent here!!!

The Hobos are back - by popular demand. Amazing, musical, lyrical Americana/Country/Folk trio. Simply gorgeous. Watch This!!!!

And here's the big one - Hungry Grass are back!!. Irish Traditional music with a wonderfully anarchic twist. Hungry Grass are well known across Europe as one of the premier Irish bands, and are worth the trip. They will be performing their wonderful brand of mayhem from 9.00 or so onwards.

Poster for sharing will be here soon, so watch this space!!!

Here's a nice video about the venue, with a bit of history and panoramic 'views'. This space is actually HERE in SE22!!! People that have lived only 100 yards away for 30 years have come to an event here and been blown away that this remarkable space is on their doorstep, with a welcoming clubhouse and bar. Stunning views, great sunsets (especially in May), and an incredible line up of beautiful acoustic music in a phenomenal sounding bar. There's no better way to spend the last Saturday night of May!!!

Guest update, and running order for 31st May

First the great news that the mighty talent that is LVJ will be making a guest appearance at our Unplugged night on May 31st. Louis (Vann Johnson) is an incredibly talented local singer/sonwriter/performer who is always a huge hit with any audience. He has been playing many local gigs lately, after spending a couple of years touring Europe with Eu reggae/RnB superstar Patrice.

So plan for a great night next Saturday (31st May). An incredible line-up, including celebrity global busker Hey Zeus, the wonderfully delicious americana/folk/bluegrass of the hobos, and of course, London's finest Irish traditional band, the mighty Hungry Grass. It's going to be just AWESOME!!!!

Sadly, HeyZeus has been offered a fistful of dollars for a gig tonight in Tunbridge Wells, at their beer festival. So he won't be playing. A slight reshift, and completely awesome line-up still awaits, with music now starting around 6.00pm!!

Great sunset on the cards!!

    • There has been a number of achievements, but drowned out due to: Bloody awful comms from the government Some daft decisions and initiatives, then either digging themselves into a hole and/or turning For example the well off should not get winter fuel allowance, benefit needs to be reformed and rich farmers should not get tax breaks, but we now how all that went  Employers national insurance - money has to be raised from somewhere but that is the difficult question The image from the right wing press has now stuck, propagated by traditional and social media. And then some appalling acts of self harm. We of course all know better, but I do wonder about the competence of those advising him.

    • When did this whole “elect a govt and then change leaders as we see fit “ notion take hold ? it didn’t help the Tories and it won’t help Labour  (and why do people think they can change leaders, call new elections on a whim, but NEVER EVER talk about changing Brexit)  I dont think starmer is doing a good job. But he was elected. And the volatile electorate wanting short term fixes are part of the reason behind his ultra-cautiousness  Complaining about govt and suggesting change of direction seem fine to me. Demanding a change of leader not so much  that being said, if there was some Labour implosion and someone like Burgon was in some mad scenario made leader, then I think the electorate should be entitled to a general election. Just as it should have happened when Johnson was replaced
