My daughter has had it in her head now for months that she wants a clown party. At 6, they're probably too young for all out circus skills but maybe a bit too old for simply someone singing some songs in a clown outfit. Anyone used an entertainer for this kind of thing and got any recommendations?

We used Nick (lathough spoke and organised with James) from http://www.pressplay.org.uk/

from Pressplay Productions.

Nick was absolutely fabulous, entertaining over 20 children for 2 hours, showing them how to balance peackock feathers, spin plates, use diablos's, juggle and ride pedalo's

I organised this with James, he responded to all my emails, and they were great to work with.

Would recommend if you were looking for a circus skills party .....

Just an update - we used Pressplay as per Hazelnunhead's recommendation and the party was brilliant. Circus skills rather than a clown. James pitched it perfectly for the age-group - easy for those who needed it but little tests for the more able. Could see it being adapted and working well for older kids too. Kids comments included "best party EVER", "wish we could do it again!". Happy kids, happy mum!

    • Staff have changed and owner now taking a more active role….she is such a nice+lady so I encourage you to try again . I am all for supporting local business and personally very glad after appalling service earlier this year Gail’s has closed.. Change of staff and chefs were unreal.. In one month alone must have had at least 4 new chefs plus god knows how many waiters/ waitresses.. when Ai saw that happening, new it was gonna be down hill all the way.

    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
