Hi there,

I'm a female post-graduate psychologist conducting research which I hope will go some way to improving clinical services for female breast cancer patients.

I'm looking to have in-depth conversations with women who have undergone reconstructive breast surgery following mastectomy as a treatment for breast cancer. The research will focus broadly on your treatment options, your level of satisfaction and your perception of your body following surgery.

Participants must have:

- had a mastectomy and reconstructive breast surgery (immediate or delayed) following a breast cancer diagnosis

- undergone reconstructive surgery before 1st June 2013

- been 45 years or younger at the point of reconstructive surgery.

Interviews will be strictly confidential and can take place either in my office at a central London hospital, or at a location convenient for you. Any identifiable data will be seen only by the interviewer (myself) and will be anonymised for the purposes of this study. Transcripts will be destroyed following the completion of research, and participants may request copies of the study if they wish.

If you would like to take part or discuss in further detail, please send a private message or call 07817738897.

In exchange for your time, I will donate ?5 per participant to the London-based charity, Breast Cancer Care (www.breastcancercare.org.uk/). I can also promise infinite cups of tea/coffee, and biscuits galore!

With best wishes and thanks in advance,

Amy

    • You can get a card at the till, though, to get the discount. You don't have to carry it with you (or load it onto your phone), you can just get a different card each time. Not sure what happens if they notice 🤣
    • Yes..that may be the case but membership STARTING at £115 a month is still unafforable for many. Council gyms also have a large range of equipment and I had a  PT at Dulwich leisure centre when I was in Full Time employment who was incredible and even kept in contact during lockdown giving me a program I could do at home and checking in weekly at no charge or personal gain for herself. I dont doubt that Fit For may be a good gym (Its been in situ long enough so must be doing something right) However the cost of membership means it is affordable for the few not the many. If I could afford that kind of fee I would rather get a train to Canary Wharf and go to Virgin active where theres a pool and incredible classes and facilities
    • This sounds great 👍
    • We found a red TREK bike yesterday that had clearly been stolen and dumped. Would love to reunite it with its owner. Get in touch if you know whose it is.
