★★★★ANDREW LAWRENCE★★★★ http://www.andrewlawrencecomedy.co.uk/

?Andrew Lawrence has to be seen to be believed?formidably funny? (Time Out)

Lawrence's act exploits his range of voices, includes references to his ginger hair and songs performed on an acoustic guitar. His university debut led on to the Edinburgh fringe, where he was runner up in the 2003 So You Think You're Funny competition. Subsequent wins of the Amused Moose Starsearch, York Comedy Festival New Act of the Year Competition and the BBC's New Act of the Year Competition in 2004 confirmed him as an emerging talent on the UK comedy scene.

He presented his first hour-long comedy show at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe entitled How to Butcher your Loved Ones. It was nominated for the if.comeddie award (as it was known for that year only) for Best Newcomer. He has returned to the Fringe every year since

"Lawrence is so thorough in assuming his character, that he often comes across as a young man who really does kill the thing he loves then feasts on the gooeyness inside, singing a tune about it as some kind of terrible yet touchingly inevitable catharsis. His victims? losses are truly comedy?s gain"(Scotsman)

'The wonderfully articulate, breakneck prose through which he delivers his punch lines is as spellbinding as it is nasty?if you haven?t seen Andrew Lawrence yet, then make time to do so. If you?ve no heard of him, don?t worry ? you will. From the moment he graced the limelight, Andrew Lawrence owned the stage?absolutely brilliant stuff' (BBC)

★★★★MORGAN BERRY LIVE★★★★

Join rising star Joe Rowntree for an evening hot pot of his debut Edinburgh character comedy show, serving up the rare and wonderful specimen that is Morgan Berry: Pet Bereavement Counselor.

Morgan Berry Live

Ever wondered when the problems in your life started? When things got so confusing and out of control. Come and join the world?s first 24 hour Pet Bereavement Counselor- Morgan Berry to find out. He will cure all your problems. Come get fixed and set yourself free!

Full 4 star review of Joe?s Character show in Edinburgh 2013:

Twist your mind to imagine through the impossibilities of The League of Gentlemen being made in the early 80?s. Now thrust into that world of madness a young Vic Reeves from the heady days of Vic Reeves Big Night Out and Noel Fielding from his Mighty Boosh days. Now imagine Vic and Noel having a rancid love child. Joe Rowntree is what that child would have grown up to be, which brings us to modern day Edinburgh?

In short this show is ludicrous. Joe is a character performer who manages to completely throw himself into the role. If you were to speak to him off stage it would be hard to imagine that this nice, polite young man could come out with the nonsense that he does. To say he?s a complete nutter seems like an understatement.

There were whimpers of laughter almost continuously throughout the show and anyone who says they had even an inkling of what was coming next is a filthy liar. Joe worked his way through several very well thought out sections of the show, pausing with great effect to let the madness sink in, and continuing at just the right pace to keep everyone in the crowd constantly giggling. Short of breath and with tear drenched cheeks, we watched the show end as unexpectedly as it began.

Surprising, full of audience participation and riotous laughter, you are completely safe in the knowledge that you have just bore witness to a unique event; this is the very epitome of a great Edinburgh Fringe show. Nothing may ever be the same after watching this performance, or it maybe it will be, but at least you can bank on having some hilarious Joe Rowntree quotes to throw at your mates.

Doors open:7.45pm Show:8pm

    • I wouldn't recommend Forest Hill if you have a child in one of the Dulwich private schools and you intend to cycle. ..that hill is very steep. In my opinion the ideal locations would be around Court Lane/near library - I used to cycle across Dulwich Park with my little one to go to one of these schools - when I used to live there. Houses might be on the smaller side. around North Dulwich/Herne Hill great transport link to the City and you are also close to Brockwell Park  or West Dulwich (not the most exciting area but very quiet and very convenient for DP, pre Prep and DC.)  Nice houses as well.
    • I was born in my Nan's house on Belvoir Road in February 1995 and I lived with my mum and also my younger sister at 185 Ladlands, Overhill Road. I went to nursery and then school at Goodrich Community Primary School and remember the following staff members - Miss Hunter, Mr Coleman & Mr Johnson. A few pupils I remember are - Tanya, Flo, Lauren, Lucy, Arcadeus (not 100% sure of spelling). I moved to Bromley in the early 00s.
    • My mum used to go to a Caribbean shop in Sydenham in the 90s but can't remember the name of the shop. The man's name was Roger. Any ideas?   TIA
    • I look out for them tomorrow over Horniman Gardens.  Separately our garden has been invaded by large birds, magpies, a jay or two, starlings, a couple of wood pigeons and less great and blue tits than usual, virtually no long tailed tits and only the occasional dunnock.  No blue tit nesting this year either..... Here's a lovely picture when the common redpolls visited a few weeks ago, feeding on sunflower chips with the goldfinches.  Note the home made anti-parakeet cage (from a squirrel proof feeder)
