Last night my blue Suzuki DRZ400s was stolen from outside my home on Rosendale Road. She was attached with a chunky chain to a strong wall anchor but bolt cutters were used. She has massive sentimental value to me as last year I took 12m to ride her solo from London to Capetown on a charity trip and she never let me down. Please keep your eyes out for her. Reg no: RO56 ENF. The police have been informed. Photos attached - please take a look, she is a very distinctive looking bike, only difference to this photo is her seat is now black leather not sheepskin.

Can I also recommend that anyone else with a motorcycle gets a tracker fitted - I didn't have one and would have made it much easier to find her now if I had.

Many thanks

The sighting of the bike on Saturday was around 4.30pm, sadly there is no street CCTV and no local shops have CCTV (ironically the estate agent there used to have it but it was stolen!). I asked at the pub and a few of the punters corroborated that an adventure style bike had been there, just now trying to get hold of the barbers themselves to find out what they know (bike was parked right outside their shop so may have been a customer).

As for the theft itself, no CCTV at all on my street or shops, no residents heard anything...

Morning, sadly no news and having spoken to the barbershop owner on Barry Road, it sounds very much like the sighting on Saturday morning probably wasn't my bike after all (Apparently it had NZ numberplates, solid box luggage which my bike didn't have any of the brackets etc for and knobbly tyres...none of which my bike had last time I saw it and doubt those would be the changes a thief would make). Please do keep your eyes out though as she may well still be somewhere!

Thank you for your support and good wishes, makes this horrible situation feel slightly less awful :-)

PS on a more positive note, the Evening Standard are interested in writing a story about whats happened so if that happens, that'd really help spread the word and get the message out there. Fingers crossed! I need all the help I can get now I've had the official letter from the Police that the "case is closed" due to lack of evidence, CCTV coverage or any other leads...

So sorry to hear this :( ! On the lookout for your bike! I saw a similar one in tulse hill on the weekend & took a photo of the plate to check when I got home but it was a different number to yours. Unless you think they might have changed it?

Best,

Gg

Hello, thanks so much for the email - very sadly that doesn't look like her as this bike has indicators (mine have long since broken off!) and a rear rack that doesn't look familiar, so pretty certain it can't be her. Thank you so much for looking out though, I really appreciate it! :-)

    • I do hope NOT. He's backed by GB News which focus's predominantly on immigration while the BBC focus predominantly on the Israel - Gazza conflict.
    • Everyone gets the point that Corbynites try to make with the "total number of votes cast" statistic, it's just a specious one.  In 2017, Corbyn's Labour got fewer votes than May's Tories (both the percentage of votes and aggregate number of votes). In 2019, Corbyn's Labour fewer votes than Johnson's Tories (both the percentage of votes and aggregate number of votes); and he managed to drop 2.7 million votes or 6.9% of vote share between the two elections. I repeat, he got trounced by Boris F***ing Johnson and the Tories after the Brexit omnishambles. It is not true that a "fairer" electoral system would have seen Labour beat the Tories: Labour simply got fewer votes than the Tories. Corbyn lost twice. There is no metric by which he won the general election. His failure to win was a disaster for the UK, and let Johnson and Truss and Sunak into office. Corbynites have to let go of this delusion that Corbyn but really won somehow if you squint in a certain way. It is completely irrelevant that Labour under Corbyn got more votes than Labour under Starmer. It is like saying Hull City was more successful in its 2014 FA Cup Final than Chelsea was in its 2018 FA Cup Final, because Hull scored 2 goals when Chelsea only scored 1. But guess what - Chelsea won its game and Hull City lost. Corbyn's fans turned out to vote for him - but an even larger group of people who found him repellant were motivated enough to show up and vote Tory.
    • I guess its the thing these days to demonstrate an attitude, in this instance seemingly of the negative kind, instead of taking pride in your work and have standards then 🤷‍♀️
    • Nope, I'd just get on with my day and forget about it. And I wouldn't report them on the basis that they might spill my coffee in the future.  However the OP seems to think that this young woman is deliberately pushing her bell, slamming her gate etc, having repeatedly been asked not to. I'd wager the woman is a bit pee'd off and there's a bit of a stand-off going on. Best course of action is to go out, take the parcel, smile sweetly, say hello, tell her you hope she's having a nice day / staying cool etc, in a way that comes across as genuine and not pass-agg,  and to let it diffuse. Might find it calms down a bit.  But I like the girl hate the idea of her being denigrated on here when she works so hard.
