Carpenter recommendation

Hi all - I moved to EDL just over a month ago and this forum has been unbelievably useful in finding recommendations for people/places/items etc - and having now just finished my first job through the site I thought it only right to provide a recommendation back!

We have had some fitted cupboards and shelving installed in our lounge (either side of chimney) and fitted wardrobes in main bedroom. We used Rafal from RWL Carpentry (www.rwlcarpentry.co.uk) and he was absolutely fantastic - best quote we had and the actual units are better than we expected they would be.

I was most stunned by the complete lack of mess/dust throughout the process. Still not entirely sure how he did that! Also always there on time and quick to respond to questions by email/phone.

Could not recommend him highly enough if you are looking for a carpenter to do basically anything in your home.

I cannot second this recommendation highly enough. Based on the comments above, I booked Rafal to build two two alcove cabinets with shelves, return edges and skirting in the living room. Bearing in mind my husband is a carpenter (too busy at work to do this job) the expectations were high. Rafal has done the most incredible job and at the most reasonable price I could have found.

Truly amazing.

Was insurance needed? ID? Who checked it? What was the situation if somebody was injured while working in your house or garden? What if someone broke or stole something? What if someone in your house was molested or attacked? What if you weren't happy with the standard of work? Sorry to be gloomy, but whilst this sounds a great idea in theory, in common with many people I know I've had several  bad experiences with supposedly professional tradespeople, let alone someone who wasn't doing it for a living.
