At this year's East Dulwich Literary Festival, we have a couple of FREE events for families. It would be fantastic to see you there. Tickets will be required for these, but they are available from Rye Books, or you can reserve them by emailing [email protected].

Thursday 26th June, 7.30pm: Open Air Performance of Treasure Island

When their ship is stranded at sea on a windless day, Captain Jim Hawkins and his loyal crew while away the time telling old sailors? tales. And Captain Jim?s tale is always the most popular...

With a host of wild characters and events, from Billy Bones to the threatening Blind Pew and the ?Black Spot?, the pirate?s mutiny on the Hispaniola to the marooned Ben Gunn and the fight at the stockade on the isle where Captain Flint?s treasure is buried, Robert Louis Stevenson?s classic story is brought to theatrical life by Rain or Shine in this new adaptation by James Reynard.

This tale of buccaneers, greed, courage, betrayal and pieces of eight has both humour and brutality and is suitable for adventurers from the age of 6 to 106. Jim Hawkins invites you to hear how he came to leave his home, the Admiral Benbow Inn, and make his way across the seas to Treasure Island.


Saturday 28th June, 1.00 ? 5.00pm: Family Fun Day

We?ve got an afternoon of fun for everyone, with child-friendly standup comedy from the Comedy Club 4 Kids, musical performances from local acts, storytelling performances, drama and history workshops, live poetry, talks on local history and stalls selling food, drink and crafts.

      Anyone experiencing even greater issues securing a GP appointment with Tessa Jowell GP practice?

      Called Tessa Jowell GP Surgery today after failing to get two repeat prescriptions from the pharmacy.  When I asked the pharmacy, I was told that they had been requested but not sent by the surgery.  After speaking to the surgery I was told that those two items were no longer on my repeat prescriptions.  I was told I would need a prescription review. Earliest date would be the 22 September.  That is utterly ridiculous.  Surely someone from the surgery should have contacted me to tell me this after requesting the repeat prescriptions two weeks ago.    Also, apparently, there is no point sending an email regarding prescriptions as they are not actioned nor replied to as I have discovered.

      Erm... guessing it's like any service... so you can receive/be part of something relevant to you in the area where you happen to reside. You don't have to sign up but you might miss out on an excellent Tesco offer or two. 🤷‍♀️

      https://www.stanthonysprimary.co.uk/parents/admissions/admissions-1 Both my children went to St Anthony's and I feel it is a wonderful school... very inclusive of all faiths (they learn about all religions even though it's a Catholic school) and nurturing with great pastoral care and teaching. it's a real community of families and school staff and I was very sad when my youngest left for secondary this year.

      looking for stainless steel pan / stock pot/ preserve pan etc - needs to be deeper than 20cm

      happy to buy, but would rather not buy a new one as only need it for a very short time (Hallowe'en). Please let me know if you have one in your cupboard that you don't use.
