I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on good, basic baby monitors. I need to buy a new one as my son will be moving out of our room soon, but do not really want one of the fancier ones which have video, play lullabies, have light shows etc. I just want one that, most importantly has good, clear audio.

Thanks

da-dah! Got this recently & love it. No faff or worry about room temp & v useful feature that means you don't get kept awake by every squeak & sigh :-)

We have the Motorola MBP 16 Digital Audio Monitor with LCD Display which is around 35, it does have a light on and lullabies which we have never used other than to entertain 15month old so he can press the buttons on it! Our house is fairly small 2 bed but we've taken it to parents/ friends also who have a four bed house where baby was at opposite end of house upstairs to us and in both these instances it has been great

    • To be fair, a pot of tea for one in a department store is a small pot, and you only get one cup or mug!
    • I know - we have been here lots of times since it first opened,  which is why we were disappointed that it was closed at a time it was supposed to be open, but with no notice to say why! I guess we will just  have to ask the reason at our next visit, but I'm not sure we will risk Saturday lunchtime again unless we find the closure  was an unavoidable one off ....
    • Nope. I don’t have this wrong. I’ve tried to put my point across respectfully, and explain that I understand the nuance of editing, story-telling and reporting better than many, without resorting to personal, angry insults. And all my colleagues agree that the BBC got this right in its condemnation.    All you see is confirmation bias.    If you don’t realise that, then you’re part of the problem.
    • We have always gone during the week at lunch time - great place and good value. Husband has been several times on his own and owner knows his first name. I could not go one time for some reason and she sent him home with some spring rolls (free)
