The Southwark Clinical Commissioning Group - GP's in Southwark - have defined what they want delivered at the Dulwich Community Hopsital site. This was informed by GP views and another consultation process with the public etc.

The upshot of that is they need around 5,100m2 of floor space + 100 car parking spaces whch would occupy around 2,200m2.

The site is just over 27,000m2.

Hope this helps.

Perfect site for part use as a cottage and community hospital as well as some housing for the elderly. Schools are important and we have a young demographic, however people get older and people are living longer, surely this needs to be factored into plans for usage of a site that has formerly been a hospital. Otherwise use of resources is overly skewed to one end of the human lifecycle.

Note that in James Braber's top 5 aims for ED nothing about the elderly at all. Having nice streets comes higher.

Hi first mate, steveo,

We lost the local electionfor control of Southwark resoundingly. In our main manifesto we had lots for older people.

Locally in East Dulwich older people were very clear their priority to us was a Police base. Which is why we included it in our local promises. Then they said cleaner streets.

Our six to fix was edited by SE22 to five local promises. The missing one is a new local cinema.

    • In case anyone is renovating or stripping out an old kitchen, I am looking for a base kitchen unit or carcass to house an oven for a temporary set up kitchen.   Also looking for a run of worktop at least 180 cm long if anyone is disposing of something like this, I would be happy to collect.   thanks   Mila
    • Big recommendation for Stephen Viccary who has created a magnificent bathroom for us. Quality of work is absolutely top notch. We couldn't be happier - see pics.  Stephen is considerate and tidy meaning working from home during the work was fine (some noise - obviously, it is a demo and installation after all. He does not work on multiple jobs, does a full days work and does ALL the work himself - Tiling, plumbing, lighting (including lighting on a motion sensor under the vanity and in the shower niche - for night time visits 😉), he even changed the door architraves, sorted the badly cracked ceiling and did all the paint work. A full end to end service. Stephen's number - 07941 266 145
    • Highly recommend Dulwich Eco Gardening.  When he came to quote Saied said he’d give our garden back so we could decide what we do next.  Under two weeks of hard work from Saied and Mo and we have the garden back and can see paving I’d forgotten about. Not only did Saied remove our very overgrown greenery. Nature had taken over. He also took back to our fence line overgrown ivy, apple and pear trees and and dealt with a neighbours bamboo that had invaded our garden.  We are now going to get quotes for what we do next so those quoting will be able to see the space.  Saied has suggested someone to quote and will be coming back when he does in case he has any questions or they can work together.  I thought Saied would be a good choice and he was. Quotes from others didn’t leave me with confidence for the end result. That was never a concern with Saied.
