I have to disagree about The Chandelier - I had a cappuccino there recently that was crud. The cup was so small you needed a microscope to find it - and there was literally one cm (I'm not exaggerating) of liquid at the bottom. When I queried it I was told cappuccino's should be "mostly froth". Which is wrong...it shouldn't...it should just have froth on top. Making it mostly froth means you save a lot on milk and I suppose save a little bit of money. Thought it was a bit of a rip off, really, especially given it's the most expensive (and smallest) cappuccino in East Dulwich.

Petitou is great, and does the best marmite on toast EVER. Jacks is also superb - and again, really good toast. And they're friendly and easy-going, to boot.

Beg to differ on the 'froth on top' issue, Carol. A cappucino should be one third coffee, one third steamed milk, one third froth. I think Chandelier do a good one & seek out their cappuccinos (cappuccini??) over the milky monstrosities served in most of ED. But then I'm a fussy sort who specially asks for a 'dry' cappuccino (ie lots of froth), so make of that what you will!

    • I was amazed to see a young nuthatch crawling headfirst down a the trunk of a tree in my garden to bully the great tits and blue tits off the bird feeders yesterday.  Didn't expect to see one this far from the woods.
    • some titles are "protected" ie you have to have certain qualifications and be registered with the supervising council https://www.hcpc-uk.org/about-us/who-we-regulate/the-professions/ Dietician is registered and protected Nutricionist is neither. Anyone can claim to be a nutricionist or chiropracter etc
    • It didn't occur to me to ask. No idea if dieticians are employed within the NHS. It is just one line of enquiry among others. The GP mentioned it, not me.
    • I thought the most they sell in terms of hot food at londis is like pastries and sausage rolls and for hot drinks its like costa coffee but its always a convenience store. Doesn’t look too bad in my opinion considering that shop has been closed down ever since i moved here
