rrcog1988
Had a man knock on my door this eve around 7:30pm to clean my windows - said he had bumped into the landlady in Peckham and she sent him round. When asked to describe the landlady he didn't do very well so I sent him packing. All seemed a bit odd. Cleaning windows at 7:30pm...This happened to anyone else recently? Alan Medic
If it's still bright I suppose you could clean windows regardless of it being 7.30. If fact I suppose more people are likely to be at home then which makes some sense. If he got as far as asking you for money upfront he was probably a chancer. maxxi
The old (and I mean old) window cleaning scam used to be someone knocking and offering a window-cleaning service, saying they were starting in a week or so and if you wanted to be sure of getting a prime position in the queue they would take a fiver deposit there and then ... it's how a few Millwall fans got the money to attend home games.
