The Three Day Musical for 6-13 year olds - next week (26th-28th August)

Recommended Posts

Join Nimble Arts this summer to write, compose and perform your own brand new musical! This is a fun creative project for 6-11 year olds, and using Nimble Arts costumes, props, instruments, staff and LOTS of imagination, you can come and write your own weird, wonderful and possibly wacky new musical. Previous projects included the wonderful 'Woofeow' (the journey of a dog who thought she was a cat!) and 'The Pumpkin Princess' (an angry princess and her mission to ban everything beginning with the letter P!).

Dates are:

5th - 7th August, Heber Primary School (10.00 - 4.00 each day, with free childcare 8.30 - 5.00)

26th - 28th August, Goose Green Primary School (10.00 - 4.00 each day, with free childcare 8.30 - 5.00)

We've been getting quite a lot of email enquiries about how exactly the three day musical works! I've tried to put a bit more here at http://eepurl.com/YraUL, but any questions, do ask and I'll try to answer here... In brief, basically we're not about giving a script, or trying to re-enact other existing musicals (although there are a lot of great courses locally that do that, and we do know this is also a lot of fun!). Our courses are really about using our imaginations and lots of creative play to come up with something that the children taking part have devised themselves. Roles are created to fit the participants, and whether they're budding musical soloists, or would prefer more of a backstage role, everyone can get involved :) Our final musicals tend to be pretty weird and wonderful, and are performed to parents, carers and friends at the end of the course. If we have enough budget, we're hoping to get this properly filmed at the end too!

The next Three Day Musical (and last week of nimble arts antics this summer) takes place this week 26th-28th August, and we've still a few spaces available if you're looking for creative activities to dodge the London rain! Book at www.nimblearts.co.uk and email [email protected] to find out more.

    • Maybe they would just leave them turned. In a world gone suddenly mad, it makes many individuals feel better to think they have made some protest, however small, even if they know that it makes no difference at all in the great scheme of things. Surely that's better than just blind (sorry I can't think of a better word) acceptance  of  whatever dreadful things are going on, or turning a blind (sorry again) eye. History shows us where that has led in the past. And in the case of the Tesla sellers and non purchasers, it has actually significantly affected things, albeit not the political things which matter.
    • Can anyone recommend a good local wedding DJ with all their own kit (hook-up is via XLR cable)?  Having our wedding reception at the Herne Tavern at the end of May!
    • Agreed. Shop workers would have to waste time turning all the items the right way round.
