Where to repair a cracked mobile phone screen?

My darling husband sat on my mobile phone while "looking after it" in his back pocket, at a party at the weekend.

It still rings and I can still take calls but the screen is now 90% black so I can't access texts or emails. I called the O2 shop who suggested I take it to one of the little independent phone booth/shop things in brixton where they replace the screen.

Has anyone tried this or does anyone have a suggestion of somewhere reliable to get it done that won't wipe all the info from the phone?

anyone of the mobile shops in rye lane would do the screen i always used the one that is at the entrance of what used to be called the bargain centre .on left as you walk down pass argos .prices are from around ?25 upwards depending on what type of phone it is.they put a new curcuit board in one of my i phones that got wet ,i supplied the screen they only charged me ?5 .
We used the newsagent/phone shop at corner of east dulwich grove/Melbourne to repair a cracked iPhone screen recently. Dropped it off and returned in an hour and a half to pick up fixed phone. Can't remember exact cost but do remember it was much less than expected.

    • Steve used to joke that my old VW Golf kept them in business. I've got a more reliable car now so maybe that's why they are closing. Sad day.
    • Is Dell Autos closing down completely or just moving? For whatever it's worth, for MOTs I've had good recent experience with The Test Centre in Deptford. They only do MOTs so they don't have any particular incentive to fail you and they usually have same day appointments. Open 7 days a week and late. https://www.thetestcentre.co.uk/our-test-centres/deptford-branch/ Obviously you would still need a "normal" garage to do servicing and repairs etc.
    • So what is the issue? You want compensation for the loss of value, or you want to expedite the matter?
    • No. What happened? I actually thought, considering it was what we used to call Guy Fawkes Day last night, the loud noises from  fireworks ended remarkably early. About 9pm? Maybe I just fell asleep and didn't hear any later ones. Do people actually burn Guys any more? Apart from at places like Lewes, where I believe they still have Bonfire Societies and burn effigies of various political figures etc.
