Those people who have recently been unhappy with the service provided by the Melbourne Grove Medical Practice will be interested to know that the Practice is conducting a survey of its patients' views.

Since the Practice's contract is coming up for renewal next year, if you want to send a shot against their bows, you might like to complete the survey. The risk is obviously that the Practice might throw any critical survey. Arguably it is not an impartial survey since an independent body should be conducting it.

All the GP practices in Southwark have just completed a patient survey (known as the GPAQ) which is a requirement of their contract with Southwark PCT, and the results go directly back to the PCT for analysis. GP practices then need to feedback the results of this survey to their patients - either on a noticeboard or newsletter. If they do not do this satisfactorily they will lose 'points' (money).

I don't think MG would be carrying out their own survey so soon after doing the mandatory GPAQ survey, so the survey you're referring to is administered independently.

Having been in the surgery yesterday I was given one of these surveys to fill in. On the front page it says that answers are treated in the strictest confidence (you don't write your name on anywhere) but then the 1st few questions are about what you think of the reception staff (IMO opinion very rude and unhelpful) and then you are expected to hand them back to the afroementioned reception staff once completed.... I wonder how many of those questionnaires actually make it back to the practice manager or whoever is conducting the survey...

    • When you dig into the site, there's an ancillary domain also involved in the system: neighbourhoodalert.co.uk;  and one pointed to by the latter as an example, stayintheknow.co.uk, which seems to have been set up by Lancashire.  All three long validated by Nominet and with same registrar.    metengage_etc_whois.txt

Jan was friendly, prompt and informative throughout the process. He accommodated our requests and left the repair site spotless.  His mobile is 07905950686.
