Hola!

Did you find group? I will love to go to one. I speak to my LO in Spanish all the time hoping she will learn but defo will much prefer if she can see that it's not just "mummy language" hehehe

I will take a look as someone suggest in the family room but if you find one place let me know!

Hola

if you search you will find a thread about a group of spanish speaking parents that started to get together just to hang out in the park and so the kids could practice the language. it wasn't a class, just informal. there was quite an appetite for it I remember but I think it petered out as no one stepped forward to organise. so if you wanted to have another go, I'm sure you'd get a lot of takers!

I think there would be a meet going on....but somebody needs to take the initiative and set it up!

As I said, a group of forum parents did start to do this a year or so ago and there is a lot of demand. I dropped out as my kids were a lot older than the others. We just set a date and a meeting place. At this time of year it's easy - picnic in the park?

Hello, sorry I don't get updates from this thread so missed all the messages. I haven't found a playgroup so far. I'd be happy to meet up next week at 1-ish. Monday or Thursday would work best for us. My son is nearly 9 months.

Sigi, would you like to suggest a meeting spot?

Rds,

Silvia

    • There's quite a difference between going for a run around the footpaths and trying to sit quietly for an afternoon in a wide, grassy area and enjoying the peace & nature. The other two grassy areas in the park are used for sports, and both had barriered trackway running through them. The Parkrun had to be cancelled for at least three weeks, iirc. I'm concerned by your continued reference to "the rye" - the event is held in the park, not on the rye (common). There is a big difference, despite the organisers and council artificially amalgamating the whole area when trying to convince everyone that it's only a small area that is closed off. The railings & gates enclosing the park are a big clue...
    • So have you cancelled your contract with InPost / Yodel now? If so, that's probably caused hundreds of parcels to be stuck in limbo, as they've said to me before that they can't redirect them to a different store. I have a parcel that was refused by you twice, the last time on 5/12, and since then there's been no updates, despite me calling them 3 times. They just say it's being investigated, but if they now can't physically deliver to you then that is obviously the issue. So much for shopping for Christmas presents early, looks like I'll never get them now.
    • I thought I noticed the shop being redecorated the other day when I passed. Also the old Romeo Jones had some works going on, I think
    • Leon came to sort out a lighting issue for us last week.  He quickly diagnosed the problem and gave clear, detailed advice about how to avoid in future.  Would highly recommend him.
